#ItHappensOnlyInIndia

#Part2

Four days were passed. Newspapers and TV channels were showing the whole incident in their ways. A wave of rage and anger blew throughout the nation. People and other social organizations were protesting against the state and central government that they have failed in providing the safety to the women and girls. Specially, the university students and youth were angrier. They wanted to express their protest and frustration at every platform; whether it is in front of police station or it is on social networks. Various student organization and civilians decided to organize a strike and protest march to raise the voice for women safety bill and improvement of the law and order in the city.

Every evening people came and gathered at Central Park along with candles, posters, boards and hoardings. It was the way to pray for the fast recovery and wellness of the girl and justice to the girl and her family. Many social activists, NGO’s and people working for voice against woman violence; all were pressurizing the police and government to take proper action and arrest the culprits. On the other hand some religious organizations and saints were blaming the western culture and Bollywood movies that these things mislead the young generation and such sins are the results of modern lifestyle.

Apart from all this, the girl was still in unconscious state; admitted to the city hospital in an ICU ward. Her body seemed so weaker. The food supply was done in the liquid form. Her body was full of plasters, dressings, stitches etc. she was beaten so brutally that her private parts and internal organs were badly affected and intestine was ruptured due to the huge and forceful pressure she suffered that night.

A team of four specialist surgeons were trying their best to save her life but her condition was getting worse. Her health was continuously kept deteriorating. Seeing people’s anger and protests, the state government decided to send her to Singapore where better medical facilities and efficient surgeons were available.

“Can you tell us that what happened on the night of Independence Day? You didn’t thought a second that what was taught you during your training? And what will be the reaction against your act? Whole country is criticizing Indian army because of you. And above that, you belong to Muslim community. Politicians are thinking to create an atmosphere of hatred in other communities and army. Please tell us, why you did that?” One of the three army officials asked in a high tone.

Captain Ahmed who was silent since three days his controversial video got viral through Youtube and WhatsApp; was sitting in front of his seniors in unit headquarters. His was having a smile on his lips and he looked like he is not worried to what is said everywhere about him. His body was straight, his arms were relaxed and eyes were stuck on the corner of table where a small tricolor flag was placed on the pen stand. He shook his head and looked directly into those eyes that were having so many questions.

Col. Sinha got more confused and he shouted, “Captain! From past half n hour, we are asking you something and you are smiling like an idiot! Don’t you know that you have broken a rule and made a crime which is inexcusable? You can be terminated from your services or you can get jailed also! We want a proper answer that what thing forced to make such a crime by the hands of an army officer?"

Capt. Ahemed who was silent since he entered in the room; took a long breath and looked towards the faces that were in front of him. His body got tightened as he opened his mouth to give his justification.

“Sorry sir! I know that what is going here and outside the unit headquarters. I am also aware of the fact that I made that crime that would result me a court-marshal and imprisonment. I have broken the rules that night and did the crime for which each Indian can punish me. And I know, belonging with the Muslim community, I have made my whole community ashamed of my act and because of me they are facing anger of other communities also. But I just want to tell you that what happened on the night of the Independence Day.

Actually…………………………………”
